Practice questions on SimpleMed+: OSCE, Patient-Centred Care
How Sunderland assesses Phase 1
- Each academic year carries 120 credits (a credit is the university's measure of study load). The units above are the blocks of each year.
- Sunderland assesses you in five ways: in-year written work, written information management skills assessments, written knowledge examinations, reflective assignments and practical examinations (OSCEs). Information management skills assessments are written tests of how you find and handle information. Reflective assignments are written reflection on your own learning.
- Your ePortfolio (your electronic record of work and reflection) and an annual review of progression are also part of assessment.
- Sunderland publishes the official dates and formats. Always check your own course materials.
Test yourself
Reading is half of revision. Each unit above links to matching single best answer questions on SimpleMed+.

Hard topics, made short and simple
A free bank of short and simple explanations of complex topics, with memory aids, in bitesize pages. Each one links to the SimpleMed+ questions that test it and to the core knowledge your exams expect.

Getting ready for clinical
After Phase 1 you move into the clinical phases, with placements in hospitals and general practice.
An independent revision guide by SimpleMed, not endorsed by or affiliated with the University of Sunderland School of Medicine. Unit names follow the school's published Phase 1 programme specification. Sunderland does not publish unit topic lists, so each summary and the article mapping are our own reading of the titles.
